I think that keeping track of her actions and keeping her parents involved is good advice. When you meet parents, you want to have as much information as possible to back yourself up.

I started teaching in January at a private school, and I learned quickly that immediate consequences/rewards work best. It's good to have rewards for kids who behave, but maybe you should also have a list of consequences for those who break the rules.
