What can be done?
By pcm

Clip to ScrapBook
I have faced this dilemma too often in my reaching life and I am SpEd certified. Regular Ed teachers are expected to take on far too many 'behavior plans' interventions and special accomodations. I know the children with disabilities have a right to the "least restrictive" environment but my heart goes out to the rest of them, the poor middle of the road kids trying so hard to learn and be good. My question is ~ what can we do to advocate for ourselves and all our students? What really are our rights and how are they upheld? We all want to teach and reach all our kids. The SpEd kids have this whole legal system in place,IEP's and advocacy programs. Without taking away these children's supports how can we protect ourselves and our students?
