It stinks

I think it stinks that subs get passed over for jobs. I have been subbing for 4 1/2 years and this last school year I got my first long term subbing job. I was even passed over for a long term subbing job for a teacher
I had student taught with. The person they hired wasn't on the teachers list of possible subs and I had never seen her in the district before! (The job wasn't posted either) I also found out today that I have been passed over for yet another job the principal told me to apply for...they are posting the job next week. I hate this "who you know" business. Don't get me wrong...I love subbing

but I really want my own classroom. I have also found that if you are a good sub they aren't going to hire you for teaching jobs because it is so hard to find subs. I wish they would give me benefits and let me come in everyday then. I'm sorry...I'm just ranting. I'm done now.
