disappearing letters

I was thinking, tell them that if the first 2 or three letters match, pretend they aren't there. So if you have sale and sail, the S and A aren't really there, so cover them up with your hand or something. Then, go from there. Short and Shot. The sho disappears and you put in order the R in Short and the T in Shot.
