I agree give it time, if after about 10 mins. of the parents departure they stop crying then it will pass, I had a little girl cried everyday for 2 months when mom left, but stopped after 10 mins.
I agree with the teacher have the parent leave right away don't, then take the child gently by the hand and lead them away from mom into the room distractin them by telling them things you are doing that day.
