Don't Do It!!
By Jenna

Clip to ScrapBook
I’m sorry, but I have a real problem with using sticker charts in regular education classrooms. What about all the children that do follow the rules? Why are they not rewarded for good behavior all (well, most) of the time? I have always had an issue with giving a misbehaving student “treats” or “tangible motivations” for doing the things he is supposed to do anyway!

Call home. They might agree with you about testing (be careful how you bring this up), and they might be in complete denial that anything is wrong. See if you can speak with his pre-k teacher as well.

Good luck. These types of situations often get blamed on the teacher – you weren’t nurturing enough or in tune to this child’s specific needs….
