e-mailing principals

I attended an educational hiring event sponsored by my college and was told that e-mail is a much better way to contact principals because they can read it and respond in their own time. The only thing that I would caution you about is making sure that your e-mail is letter perfect. E-mail is such a casual medium that sometimes people forget to proofread the e-mails they send to others.
