WEEKLY HOMEWORK
By HEIDI

Clip to ScrapBook
With kids involved in so many activities after school (hockey, girl guides, Karate, etc), our school decided to help parents out by making the school-wide decision to send home a homework sheet on Monday that is due on Friday. Parents can then schedule regular homework time for their child that fits with the child's schedule. We encourage families to spend a few minutes each day on the homework, but I know some do it all at once. The thing is... imagine the child who was at a sitter's until 6 p.m., then ate and left home to get to the pool, had swim practice until 7 p.m., only gets home around 8p.m.... when will the homework happen. If your teaching is truly child-centered I think this is osmething to consider.
