Clip to ScrapBook
I will second the Andrew Clements books. I have read Frindle, A Week in the Woods, School Story and The Jacket and the kids loved them. I also enjoyed them. They generate discussion and many reading skills can be modeled with them such as predicting or making judgments. My classes also enjoyed the Judy Bloom books Tales of a 4th grade Nothing and Superfudge. One last suggestion is Joey Pigza Swallowed a Key. After reading this book, many of my students went on to read the other books in the series about Joey.
Happy reading!
