FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

At my school we don't do student of the week, we have feel good Friday. The teacher selects one or two students to go visit the principal for part of the morning. It might be for an academic achievement, a child who has| welcomed a baby sister to the family, someone who was especially kind to another etc. They get their 15 minutes of fame with the principal who sits in a cricle with students from each class and hears while they share the reason they are there. Sometimes they bring work samples with them to show the principal too. I do like the idea of having students nominate their peers for feel good | |
Friday though. It would take the burden off of me and I would hear fewer sighs from students who feel they never get picked (although I do try to picke each one at some point in the year).
