A,B,C, Let's move!
By Sue W,

Clip to ScrapBook
For some of my first graders who had particular problems with alphabetical order, I found that movement was a key. We played catch with beanbags in a small group, reciting the ABCs and eventually were able to have the kids say the letters themselves. We kept it light and cooperative, if one stumbled someone would help but had to coult to 5 first, no embarrassment, just keep it going. They also jumped rope as we recited and for the less physically coordinated jumped back and forth over a rope on the floor.
It had seemed like a lost cause until we got movement into the equation.
