A-B-C order - word wall
By Sharon D.W-L

Clip to ScrapBook
We use a word wall with 100 words. However, I start with the children's names 3-5 each week before starting the "real" words. We talk about the first letter and if there are names/words that start with the same letter then
we learn to look at the second letter.

I've not yet done this but this year we will put all our word wall words including names in ABC order every other day. I plan to give each child their own flash cards made from card stock (cover stock). I have these already sent to the print shop this year. These flash cards will be collected in a bag and used again and again. Also they

will be able to practice with more words/names at random as their pile grows. Last year we did this just using my teacher word wall cards and it worked pretty good. However, some caught on sooner then others but we did it all year.
