If my students have been extreamly good, we have a sundae party! I supply the ice cream and they have to bring in the bowl and spoon for them plus something else to top the ice cream with. It's so much fun. The kids bring in things like syrup, sprinkles, chocolate chips, M&M's, cherries, etc. I know they love it! I had a teacher who did this for my class when I was a student and we had so much fun! I can tell they enjoy it just as much as my class did! If you can't afford to miss too much class time, this is great because it doesn't take that long to make the sundaes, and you can teach something while they eat! I don't teach anything too complex, though. Usually we have a literature discussion why they eat their ice cream.
