I did take marbles out at first, but then stopped doing it. I felt bad that one or two students were ruining the whole class's chance of a reward. I also decided it was only going to be a positive reinforcment system, and consequences came in other areas. Besides, if I took a marble out every time someone did something unacceptable, the jar would never get filled!
