I am a first year teacher. My bulletin boards for the beginning of the year are: "Post your goals" (The students will write what they expect to accomplish during the year). I will post their writings on green sheets of construction paper. Then I made a large picture of a foot and a soccer ball. I laminated them and put them by my wording. I also did "Sweet Slices of Summer." I made pieces of watermelon out of foam art and they will do a writing of what they did over the summer. This will be posted on another board. Another board that I have is "Reaching for the Stars" Each star has a child's name on it with their birthdates. Hope this helps.
