My district requires homework for 2nd grade but if it were up to me I wouldn't be so concerned about it. Although my homework sounds like alot, it is not really.It is quick and just reinforces the lessons for the day. Since it is not much homework I expect it done well. I do use basal readers for homework. They were old ones from previous reading series that the school had. Sometimes I used the trade books that come with the reading series or have purchase leveled readers in a discount bookstore. MrsP
