ODD child

Clip to ScrapBook
I agree with "grey haired' said. I had such a child in my second grade. I think one key to success was being very calm ,clear and consistant about expectations since so often they see little consistancy at home. A good book
is "The Explosive Child" sorry I don't know author right off top of head. I actually wound up keeping my boy for 2 years (what was I thinking?)and it was helpful to him. As for the rest of he class I did feel they were often shortchanged and it was upsetting for them when he acted out. I had the school counselor come in at the end of the year and without him in the room the kids had a
chance to 'unload' how they were feeling about life with this little fella. She gave them some support on how to understand and cope with a difficult classmate.I am really glad I did this,I think really think it helped the rest of the kids a lot.
