Don't give up!
By Rachel

Clip to ScrapBook
I completely know how you feel! When I started at my school -- our salary was extremely low -- barely 5 digits! After a year we switched to abeka curriculum and it was a huge shock --- no more creativity and so, so, so
much work for the students. Slowly my school over the past 5 years has moved out of this but I completely know where you are coming from. I don't know what grade you teach but I do enjoy teaching abeka Science and History. There was alot of room for me to teach my way in these subjects. Also in Reading I would not follow the lesson plans that were provided because there was too much
emphasis on oral reading. Check with your administration or other teachers to see how much freedom you have. Ultimately the curriculum is there to support you not vice versa . . . but if everything and everyone is conspiring against you -- remember you only need to be there for 180 days and then you can go to a new school! I will be praying for you!
