The very first day I had the students I went over the rules and consequences. I gave examples. A couple of days later I made a new poster with pictures so that they could undertand. I am giving consequences and this weekend| I will be making some kind of reward system. I also am realizing how much more patience is needed for this grade. I will continue to work on my classroom mangaement plan but it is difficult when these children are starting from scratch. They can not write their names so I am going to have them put their handprint on it after we have reviewed a few more times and I feel like I can control | |
them with paint. So I will be taking it slowly and I know things will get better. I have also contacted parents and talked to them, written letters. I just felt like I wasn't doing something right but now I realize it really is the kids because I know I have been firm and in control from day one.
