Lead teacher job
By Laura

Clip to ScrapBook
Lead teachers in my district go through an observation process and are selected on their scores. We have many lead teachers but only a few are promoted to this level. They get an additional stypend.
Their duties are
to go to administrator meetings every Monday.
Meet weekly with their team. It may be a grade level or a looping set (k, 1, 2, 3 etc.).
They are assigned assistant jobs such as testing coordinator, curriculum council, sub committee chirs etc.
They must keep records of meetings and have minutes avialable to team members.
Buying things is done on an individual basis at our school
but they may buy the workbooks or handwriting paper we need as a group.
Though this seems daunting these teachers are paid "handsomely" for it. I have also found that many do not do all of their assigned jobs and get paid any way!
