I totally agree with you about small group instruction. I just wish we had more time to fit everything in! I am also trying to come up with a way to reach each group 2x a week instead of once a week also for more reinforcement. Last year, I did literature circles towards the end of the school year, and my students loved them. During literature circles, they worked more together than in guided reading. I was going to try maybe having my other groups doing literature circles while I take a guided reading group and see how this works out. Good luck-so many decisions to make, right?!
