first day seating

I greet kids at door and tell them to find a seat that works best for them. from the start they know that one of my main goals for 4th graders is to learn to make good choices. they learn quickly in many other ways that i am organized and in charge. i tell each that this is the seat for today only. then i ask if anyone needs a change due to vision or size needs. we make changes as needed. when things, like desk size seem settled, we place name tags on desks.changes are made as needed throughout the y ear.
