station rotations
By teach 2nd

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a bulletin board with library pockets under each child's name. There is an index card in each pocket, and the cards are numbered 1 through 7. I have 3 reading groups, and there are 3 rows of students, by reading group.
When I am with 1 group, another group is doing independent work at their desks, and the 3rd group is doing learning stations. They go the the station numbered with the one in their pocket.
At the end of the day, I simply move the index cards with the number down to the next students' name. This way, I know that when the first child in each row gets back to the number 1 index card, they have completed all of the stations.
It is very simple to manage, and I can easily tell when it is time to change activities.
