    I feel your pain...

I understand what you are feeling. I graduated in 2000 and heard what a teacher shortage there was??? I taught for a couple years as a pre-k teacher at a large day care center because I had a small child who could go with me for free. I then got a decent paying job at a charter school, but was not happy after the birth of my second child. I left and accepted a job at a private school in the city which is a great place to work, but little pay. I hear I am very lucky to be working in my field, but many of my friends have fantastic jobs they got right out of school. I can tell you, in my situation anyway, classroom experience did not help me. I haven't had any interviews in two years and it is not for lack of looking. Every year I send out about 50 or more resume/application packets and hear nothing. I would love to know the secret to even getting an interview. I wish you the best of luck! You could also try subbing to get your name out there. Good luck!
