Bring a book
By Jaime

Clip to ScrapBook
Holy crap, all high and mightys. What do you do all day when the kids are taking tests and doing worksheets? If you can't multi-task, you are in the wrong profession (yes, profession, there are some of us who do this for
a living) I can keep an eye on my class, listen for chitter-chatter, and still read my book. Mind you, keep the book appropriate no Harlequin Romances at school, please. If you don't know whats appropriate than read what they're reading (better at the junior high and high school level) doing that I was able to read Holes, Bridge to Terebithia and Tuck Everlasting, to name a few. Then, surprise,
surprise-- you can discuss the book with the students! But maybe that only works for me because I can knock out one of those books during a free period or math time. But don't be bored, if you can pay attention to the class and read at the same time, by all means expand your plane of knowledge. I do, because we all know that we don't do loads of teaching, and its better that staring at the kids or even worse into space!
