HI! Congrats on joining third grade. I would prefer if my school didn't have the kids. They just run around and it's hard to get even the parents to focus on you. I always go through rules, curriculum, behavior plan and all the necessary stuff. What I do at the beginning, is there is a paper apple with the poem: Giving an apple to a teacher
Is really nothing new
Except when you realize
that parents are teachers too.
(may not be exact, but it's real close to that) I add a real apple sitting right next to it on the desk. It really sucks them in. Parents appreciate that you think they are important.
