candy bars
By Katy

Clip to ScrapBook
There is a teacher in my school that made a poster and she had 3 sentences that each had one word that was a candy bar wrapper. I can't remember the exact phrasing but here is what I do remember:
*Give MOUNDS of compliments
*There will be no SNICKERS when someone gives an
incorrect answer.

How about making that a first homework assignment? Students choose a candy bar name such as the ones above and write a sentence that states a value. The value should be something they think will make a more positive classroom learning environment. They could bring in the actual wrapper and that way
you could make a poster of everyone's ideas to hang in the classroom. Just an idea. Good luck!

*Also, I made a candy bar wrapper collage when I taught First grade because a lot of candy bar names have great letter combinations. Students could refer to the chart when they were spelling something that rhymed with one of the candy bar chunks.
