Red folder

All of my kids have a green "GO home" folder for findished work that I am not going to take a grade on. It is cleaned out every night. Then we have a red "Stay at school" folder. Whenever morning work or classwork is not finished, it goes in there. That work is to be done before anything else, like silent reading, centers, etc. Usually, at the end of the trimester, if something is missing it is in that folder. Parents know that this work is not homework and will be worked on at school. If it gets down to the wire, I have kids stay in at recess to catch up on their stay at school folder.
