As of 2 days ago, I became a substitute teacher. I have my first assignment on Tuesday. I had my choice between a 4th grade position (my favorite age), a music position (my 2nd love), and a special education position. I took the 3rd because I've worked with special kids before and I truly believe they ARE special. I'm nervous just because it's my first job but not because it's a special ed classroom. The idea of being nervous because of the classroom assignment I took never occurred to me until reading this thread. You guys are being quite harsh to each other but I realize that it can be a touchy subject. I'm just excited to start teaching and can't wait to start on Tuesday.
