setting guidelines

I am at a new school this year. At our very first faculty meeting, the principal set very firm guidelines that teachers should follow at every faculty meeting and staff development meeting. One of these was "No sidebars." In other words, no conversations going on while the speaker is speaking. Sometimes even adult teachers need to be read the rules on the first day of school!!!
