Congrats! As you read this you've probably had your first few days and wonder what you were thinking. That's normal.
Civics this year is going to be interesting with the general election.I would gear around that and go from there.
I would also talk with the teachers with whom you are sharing the rooms with and get some advice. Also, pick out a veteran teacher and pick their brain on ideas and methods used. Be open to advice. Also, show confidence in front of the students otherwise they will get to you.
