Connect math
By rb

Clip to ScrapBook
I have been a connected math teacher for six years at the sixth grade level. There are things I really like about the program; practical, hands on, group discussions, small books etc... But, (there's always a but) the books
don't give enough practice for a struggling learner. Dale Seymour now makes extra practice books that go along with the series. I also find that I have to review basic skills on a weekly basis. The series is better than most and very teacher friendly after the first year. I have learned myself many "why's" of math that I did not learn in college etc.. It also teaches the kids organizational
skills. Kids keep their papers in a binder divided by investigations. After every two investigations, I give a five question notebook quiz to check if they are paying attention when we correct papers. I neve grade homework for accuracy, just take completion points. That makes like easier! Good luck!
