monthly chart

Clip to ScrapBook
I do the stoplight system, but in addition, I have a monthly calendar affixed to their take-home folder. You can get month specific ones with little pictures for each month, etc. I write in our themes, birthdays, and holidays.
This is done at the beginning of the month and they keep it for the whole month. In addition to all those things, I have three lines on each school day. An 'H' for homework (if it is returned), a 'B' for behavior, and an 'IN' for the parents to initial that they saw it. On the behavior line, I either draw a happy face, corresponding to green on the stoplight and good behavior, an unsure
face (squiggly mouth) for yellow, which means they had to move their clip once, or a frowny face, meaning they moved their clip twice, which is to red. Many children lose their folder, but I have many of the months printed out and just fill in their behavior from the time they get it. At the end of each week, I give them some small reward if they stayed on green all week, or if they brought their folder back. You can do that however you wish. But this way, I have a whole month at hand, regarding their homework and behavior. However, I didn't keep a running record for myself, because that was way too much work, but that would be an idea also if you were afraid too many would lose their folder on purpose.
