This works for me!

Hi,

I used this system last year and it seems to work well. I have the kids make a tent(three sided). On each side the students color a circle.. One red, yellow, and green.. It's suppose to resemple a traffic light..Students
automatically start the day on green, which says "Way to go!" If a student is not following directions I tell them to switch their tent to yellow.. this reads "be careful and change your behavior" Students have 30 minutes to change back to green.. If student continues the behavior they change to red and they have to fill out a form explaining their behavior as well as what they can
do to change it.. This form is signed by the parent and kept for your records..At the end of the day the students fill in their color on a chart and they get rewarded for 10 straight "greens." You can pick the reward, I use a trasure box visit.. Also parents are aware of this system and the student brings home a slip of paper each day that is marked. "red, yellow, green" and I circle what color they were for the day and parents sign and return. THis is a great way to keep parents informed of behavior and it's an effective way to keep students on track.. Hope this helps!
