Rules on First Day
By Jenn

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi,

It is probably a good idea to start your rules on day one. It sets the tone for the week and your students will know what to expect when they come to school on day two. It helps if you let your students create the rules (prompt them to come up with the rules you want in the room), that way they feel like they have created the rules and are more likely to follow them. I know a lot of teachers, including myself, spend the entire first two weeks on classroom rules. It will save you a lot of grief later on if you start from day one.

I hope that helps.
