first day/week

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a partner interview with 5 or 6 simple questions about the partner. They have to ask the questions, get answers - can't write them down! - then repeat info on the partner student to class. Things to ask are about
family, favorite things, school experiences, etc. It's a good way to begin emphasizing listening skills and I do it periodically through the year with more complex "interview."

My daughter, who is also a teacher (middle school), does a "Scavenger Hunt" on the first day. She has "objects" to find "owners" for, e.g. Find someone who owns red shoes, find someone who has a reptile for a

pet, etc. The rules are that you can only ask one student one question! Person who finds most "objects" wins something easy, like new pencils or such! I think I like HER idea better!
