I disagree with the last poster on one issue -- you DON'T have to use the same system all year. If something you thought would work isn't working, by all means change it so that it does. I had to do a major behavior-management change five weeks into school, and my kids were fine. We tried lots of things and finally settled on something we all liked. Do what feels comfortable for you!
