If you lived in a town called "Perfect"
By MH

Clip to ScrapBook
Gee, that'd be nice... but I can't expect every family to cough up $3. That's how much I spent on coffee everyday, but for some, that's an entire meal for the family. Trying to find donations, or even paying out of my own
pocket, is a lot easier even on my stretched checkbook than on some families. And I like to think the students don't see it as a hand-out, or having it handed to them, but rather, a compassionate teacher sensitive to her students' backgrounds and needs. Maybe the parents could do more, but in the cases they don't, the kids are the victims. I don't want my already underpriviledged students
to miss out on more than they have to. I do anything and everything in my power to help them succeed, and hopefully, they'll remember the gestures of their teacher and realize there is someone that cares.
