Writer's workshop
By Kelly

Clip to ScrapBook
I am not sure if this is what you are looking for but writing activities that O use in my centers include:
- Story in a bag: put 7 items in a bag they have to incorporate all 7 into a story.
- Picture prompts: write
a story about what is happening in the picture of what lead up to the picture or what they think is happening just outside the pictures vision. (I try to make the picture prompt coinside with something inthe news. - Like we had a bear running around the city one year soI included this news article with the picture prompt)
- Make an add for a crazy invention (could be something someone
else made in the art center)
- Informational cartoons (ie. you are doing a bear theme so they must make a 8 panel cartoon about a bear telling you all about himself)
- Destination pamphlet (Pick a location local or not and they have to create a pamphlet telling people all about it with the goal of having people want to visit there.
- Finish a story (Write a brief story that they must write an ending for

There is a few of the ones I use. Hope it helps
-
