I just came from a CL workshop and am so Gung-Ho about it I can't wait to start....I'm keeping the pencils around my desk. I'll have a sharpened pencils box and a needs to be sharpened box. (I also have jobs for 10 students | and at the end of the day, a student sharpens all my pencils.) I'll do the other supplies in a bucket at the end of the table. Since they will be in groups of 4, I'll label EVERYTHING 1-4. All glue, scissors, crayons, markers, etc. Only people with that number can use that supply. They will be accountable for their numbers and I'll know who is messy and who is clean. I may | | even put the numbered supplies in ziploc baggies to separate it even more. This alleviates them getting up and borrowing. In my 3rd grade class, they were very possessive and didn't want to share, so if I can get everything together on day one, they won't know what is theirs...except for the parents who label everything.
