Isn't hard to do something you don't want to do? I would hate to be in your position! I, too, would have said yes, just because I have a hard time saying no. Is there anyway you could talk to your administration and tell
them that you would take the middle school position this year, but see if next year they will allow you to take the elementary? Maybe you could reach a compromise with them. I feel bad that you had your room all done and they aasked you to switch. I would be crushed. I have a suggestion for you for the decorating your room part. I say do the best you can for the short time you have. Then
on the first couple days of school spend some time with the students making decorations for your room. I'm sure the students would enjoy being in your room much more if they helped in some way to get it ready. Good luck with everything!
