Math manipulatives? try cheap and available, kidney beans, stones, toothpicks, buttons, etc. Sure you will spend your own cash, but I have only been teaching for 4 years and just moved my materials, I was shocked to see the money I spent, and yet I have said no to my own children for treats they want. I say tread carefully when spending personal cash. And, as experince showed me, what I thought I really needed, in the first years, I do not find so important now, and were as it turns out not the best spent funds. Good luck
