    Using Dot Stickers...?

Here's an idea that I might be using. in our school, it has been used in the 2nd and 4th grade, maybe the 5th before. The other 5th grade teacher told me about it the other day...

At the beginning of the week, you stick three sticker-dots on each student's desk. O O O

You also have a few small, laminated circle cut-outs to serve as physical warnings. If a student is misbehaving, you place a circle on his/her desk (not sticky, just lies there somewhere, all day I guess). If the misbehavior continues, you tell the student to peel off a sticker-dot. O O x

At the end of the week, the students who still have all three dots get a special reward... extra recess, computer lab, video, kickball, popcorn, something.

I would add that if a sticker dot has to be peeled off, I would write a brief note in that student's agenda (assignment book, signed by parents) that afternoon.

Also... I looked at sticker dots at Wal-Mart today - they were all "permanent." I would be sure to find some that were fairly easy to peel off. =o)
