Yes, the question was totally against the HIPPA law which makes it illegal. You should have never been asked anything like that. I would write the superintendant of the school district and let him know you were asked the question. Of course, 1. you won't get hired then. 2. You won't get hired anyway because you didn't answer the question. You have every right to be annoyed. Next time, I think I would say something along the lines of Due to the HIPPA law I'd rather not answer that question. It is really crazy all the things people try to get away with.
