Dear new grade 2 teachers.......

The first thing I did when I switched from Title 1 to second grade was to find an experienced grade 2 teacher,take her out to breakfast and pick her brain! She was flattered to be asked for help and this modest outlay of| time and $ was well worth it. I have now been 12 years in grade 2 and totally love it. They are the best age! I hope your grade level colleagues treat you well and there are always helpful veteran teachers somewhere in every school. However they do NOT hang out in the teachers lounge so you may have to seek them out. You have been given some good advice. Also look at www.teachingheart.com |

and the Laura Candler web site. Have fun - take your vitamins and get lots of rest. Don't forget a flu shot. For the first year you will get sick a lot but them you will build up resistance.
