I was told...

I was told in October to apply for a transfer to an elementary school and of course did but didn't get the position. This was a few weeks before my first observation. My scores were alwasy good (first and second year scores
even though this was my first). I never had a needs improvement. Of course, they always put one area of weekness down which they said was policy and did to all. The worst I was told was that I needed to be shown how to plan a middle school lesson and that my content knowledge was weak. Never at any time was I called into the office and put on a plan or worked with. Here is the

thing about the whole situation: I never applied to work at that school because it is a middle school and I am not licensed to teach middle school! They called me in out of the blue and hired me for 6th grade which I took knowing it was going to be a challenge since my license is k-4. A week and a half before school began they callled me and told me I was being moved to 8th grade English! Yikkes! I told them there and then that English at that level would be a weakness for me and they assured me I would have plenty of help. Well, help I didn't have! I was placed on a team that didn't work together and forget helping me and the department I was in was sad! I got my first needs improvement at the summative at the end of the year! I was stunned! The principal looked at me and said he had warned me back in October! The warning was to apply for a transfer! So, they had decided before ever seeing me teach that I was going. The principal stressed to me that I had done a good job, but was better suited to elementary and that when called for a rec he would say just that. I talked to him several times after that and even after school was out and he assured me he would give me a good reference! Well he lied about that!
