Congratulations! I am also new to first (moving up from kindergarten). Harry Wong's book is excellent! We had to buy it in college and I review it every year!

I'll share my rules. All the classes in my school use the same rules from K through 6th, and I love them because they are easy for the kids to remember and they cover everything.

We call them the 3 B's. Be Respectful, Be Safe, Be Ready. In the first couple weeks of school we go over all the behaviors that are covered under these rules over and over again. It works really well for my classroom, as well as the whole school.
