I would call as well

I am somewhat in the same position you are in. The district where I have been working as an aide, just opened a new elementary school. I went on an interview with them the first of July. They told me that I should hear
something back after about two weeks. Well, I touched based with them to find out the status, and they said their hands were tied right now, because of the budget, and all the transfers that were taking place (from other schools), have seniority. Now, it has been nearly a month and I am still "touching base" every week. I hear persistence pays off....so the veterian teachers have told
me. My friend just got transefered there from her other school, and she said that their numbers are way over the average. SHe put in a good word for me, yet the district has their hands tied and can't do anything right now. School starts in about 2 weeks, and everyone is scatching their heads right now.

I would defiently follow up with the school, and let it be known that you are excited about finding a career in teaching. GOod luck!! Waiting is the hardest thing to do....I feel your pain (smile).
