ED classroom
By pjm

Clip to ScrapBook
these kids are severely impaired if they're throwing desks thru windows....etc....if you have NO training in behavior management of weverely impaired children ( and you didn't say what age group) then I would carefully consider
what you are committing yourself to. These are not your run of the mill children. I have a lot of questions.
how many kids?
how many aides?
how much planning time?
if they don't eat lunch in the classroom then I assume they're with you...when do you get a break?
have you been trained in how to safely restrain children who are in a crisis situation?
does the classroom
that you'll use have a time out room?
do you have a concrete/structured behavior plan that you can use consistantly and that you know like the back of your hand? It is very important to have a strong behavior plan because that is what you'll be teaching behavior and proceedure....when that is under control then you can concentrate on academics.
