I just read the rest of your questions. In our school district intermediate is 3, 4, 5th grade and 6th is middle school. In elementary we are required to give students certain amounts of time per subject area. Reading and Language Arts - 2 hours
Math - 1 hour
Social Studies - 30 minutes
Science - 30 minutes
Health - 1 hour per week The rest of the time is P.E., Art and Music with Specialist teachers. Sometimes I'll double up a Science lesson so that we'll have science for one hour in a day, especially if we have a lab to complete. Then the next day we'll have a longer Social Studies lesson. Good luck, and don't be nervous. You CAN teach anything. :-)
